Obituary

Herman Stampfli, age 92, of Brooklyn passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017 at the New Glarus Home. He was born on October 25, 1924 in Dodgeville to his parents Jacob and Frieda (Kunz) Stampfli. Herman's love for sports started in high school as an athlete, and later continued as an avid fan. He was a lifelong farmer, who enjoyed a simple life on his farm, Miracle Acres. He demonstrated his passion for farming in his care for the animals and his love of the land. Uncle Herman will be remembered as a kind and positive person who had a way of making you feel better about yourself. He had a good sense of humor and was a bit of a prankster. Herman was always ready to challenge you in a game of horseshoes, basketball, softball, or walking on stilts. While never having his own children he loved kids, and was a teacher to his nieces and nephews. He gave us life skills and the confidence to succeed. Herman was deeply spiritual and would share the word of God with all. Rest in Peace Uncle Herman.

Herman is survived by his many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Walter Stampfli, and sisters Garnetta Thousand and Elizabeth Harrison.

A graveside burial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7302 Mineral Point Rd., Madison, WI.

Many thanks to the staffs of the New Glarus Home and Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. and all the friends and neighbors who helped out and cared for Herman.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.
