Helen Rose Baumgartner, age 89, of Belleville passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on August 23, 1925 at Postville, WI to her parents John and Rose (Schaer) Derendinger. Helen attended the Postville School and graduated from Blanchardville High School. On Feburary 3, 1946 she was united in marriage to Wilbert Baumgartner at Belleville, WI. Following Wilbert's passing Helen married Willis Baumgartner on August 1, 1974 in Belleville. She worked for many years at the Pet Milk Company in Belleville as a secretary and bookkeeper, the Milk Pail, and later the Belleville Family Restaurant. Helen was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Belleville and the Belleville Senior Citizens. She was also very involved in Project Linus to sew and craft blankets for children. Helen is survived by her son John (Judy) Baumgartner of Belleville, WI, daughters Nancy (Gary) Storm of Wheelersburg, OH and Linda (John) Genin of Monticello, WI, nine grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother George Derendinger of College Station, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Wilbert and Willis, a granddaughter Tammy Storm Edwards, a brother Donald Derendinger, and a sister Bertha Magnuson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the First United Church of Christ, 130 E. Church St., Belleville, WI with the Rev. Heide Walker Hackman officiating with burial in the Belleville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the First United Church of Christ in Belleville. A memorial fund has been established. The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is serving the family.
