Hazel Elaine Zweifel, age 93, of New Glarus passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on July 23, 1924 in the Town of Primrose, Dane County to her parents Jacob and Barbara (Urben) Jacobson. Hazel attended Madison West High School and New Glarus High School. On May 1, 1946 she was united in marriage to Arthur Zweifel at the Daleyville Lutheran Church. Hazel worked as an X-ray technician at the Madison General Hospital for many years. She was a life-long member of the Swiss United Church of Christ and the Eastern Star. She loved her family and enjoyed painting, playing bridge, and embroidery.

Hazel is survived by her children Stephen Kent (Nancy) Zweifel, Barbara Kay Bright, and Rita Ann (Jim) Schaub, seven grandchildren Kristy Zweifel, Nick (Mary) Zweifel, Stephanie Zweifel, Teresa (Dave) Wearing, Sara Johnson, Matt (Neshia) Schaub, and Katie (Mark) Tampow, six great-granchildren Jocelyn, Trevor, Trey, Colton, Jacob, and Ella.  She is further survived by a brother Robert (Gloria) Jacobson, sister-in-law Marge Jacobson, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Verna Jacobson, brother Ralph Jacobson and Earl Jacobson, and son James Arthur Zweifel.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the New Glarus Home Chapel, 600 Second Ave., New Glarus, WI (access via the Elm Dr. entrance) with the Rev. Kim Moeller officiating.

A gathering of relatives and friends will precede the memorial service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the New Glarus Home Chapel.

Memorials are suggested to the Swiss United Church of Christ or the Monroe Clinic Hospice.
