Gregory Allan Legler passed away at the age of 72 on July 30, 2022.   The son of Rufus and Patricia (Gerber) Legler, he was born on January 19, 1950 in the back seat of a Ford sedan on the way to the hospital.  Greg grew up on the family farm in the Town of Montrose and was a 1968 graduate of Belleville High School.

Greg is well known in the local farming community and has lived his life helping others and putting their needs before his own.  His life was built on hard work and dedication.  He found humor in every situation and enjoyed living life as he wanted.

Greg is survived by his siblings, Beth (Charlie) Campbell, Joan Hoppenjan, Brian Legler, and Terri Fiez as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was especially close to his nephew Keith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bruce, brothers-in-law Melvin Hoppenjan and Robert Fiez, and close extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Zwingli United Church of Christ-Paoli, 1138 County Rd. PB, Belleville, WI with Rev. Steve Davis officiating.  Burial will be in the Belleville Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.

In lieu of memorials, please go outside and enjoy the sun in the sky, the ground beneath your feet, the view of the land Greg loved so much, and give thanks to God for family, friends, and lives lived.  Thank you to everyone who cared for Greg throughout his life and to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in his final days.
