Gloria E. Rufener, age 85, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at BrightStar in Madison. She was born on July 25, 1930 in the Town of Cadiz, Green Co, WI to her parents Harold and Reatha (Cline) Norder.   Gloria graduated from Madison West High School in 1948. On June 25, 1949 she was united in marriage to Arnold Rufener in a double wedding along with her sister Joyce at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Madison. Gloria was a homemaker and farm wife who was always there for her children. In her later years she enjoyed sitting on the porch swing with her husband Arnold.

Gloria is survived by her husband Arnold, children Judy (John) Baumgartner, Belleville, WI, Tom (Judy) Rufener, Hixson, TN, James (Kathy) Rufener, Belleville, WI, and Penny (Tom) Magnuson, Verona, WI, grandchildren Julie (Tim) Hilt, Jamey (Barb) Baumgartner, Jeremy Baumgartner, Jayson Baumgartner, Jeffrey (Erin) Baumgartner, Jackie (Tyler) Wirtjes, Kim Haley, Brian Rufener, Cody (Viv) Rufener, Jennifer (Nick) Sies, Mary Hartlich, Kevin (Katie Deyoung) Rufener, Paul Magnuson, and Shane Magnuson. She is further survived by 18 great-grandchildren, a sister Dona Braun, Madison, WI, sister-in-law Kathy Norder, Verona, WI, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Donald Norder, sister Joyce Weiss, and brothers Ronald and Larry Norder.

Funeral services will held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1724 14th St., Monroe, WI. A graveside burial service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday May 12, 2016 at Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison, WI.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe.

The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.
