Glenn Francis Morrick, Jr., age 93 passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Agrace HospicCare, Inc. He was born on July 30, 1930 in Madison, WI the son of Glenn and Mary (Jones) Morrick, Sr. Glenn grew up in Madison and then went on to graduate from Rhinelander High School. After high school Glenn moved back to Madison and began working at Oscar Mayer. In 1951 he was inducted into the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Hawaii. Following his discharge in 1953, Glenn returned to work at Oscar Mayer until 1973. On February 19, 1955 he was united in marriage to Elaine Swenson at Central Lutheran Church in Stoughton, WI. Glenn began farming in 1965 and would milk cows until retiring from farming in 1990. As a farmer he was a steward of the land, he also planted over a quarter of a million trees between the farms in Dodgeville & Belleville and near the family homestead in Three Lakes over the years. A co-worker at Oscar Mayer led Glenn to Christ. Glenn was a biblical scholar and authored a book using his knowledge of the Bible at age 88, Image of the Beast.
Glenn is survived by his children Mary (Randy) Rautmann, Marc (Lorri) Morrick, Eric (Diane) Morrick, Joe Morrick, Bart (Angie) Morrick, and Jenny (Kevin) DeLorme, grandchildren Diana (Ehi), Kim (Pat), Mitchell (Heidi), Abraham, Andrew, Noah, Connor, and Isaac. He is further survived by his brother Robert Morrick and sister Darcy Vosberg, together they celebrated their combined 278th birthday this year. Glenn is also survived by a sister-in-law Virgene Hartl, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of sixty-one years Elaine, brother Wallace, sisters-in-law Joan, Barbara, Kathleen, and Bonnie, and brothers-in-law Gene and Bernie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI with Pastor Jeremy Scott officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Montrose Pioneer Cemetery, rural Belleville.
A visitation will precede the funeral service from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville, WI.
