Dateline: Brooklyn- Belleville, WI Mr. Gerald T. Schulz, Sr., age 68, of rural Brooklyn, Wisconsin passed away at his home on Thursday, March 24, 2011. He was born July 26, 1942, in Stoughton, Wisconsin, the son of Floyd and Alta Mae (Long) Schulz. Gerald was a 1960 graduate of Brooklyn High School. On June 14, 1961, he was united in marriage to Janice McDermott at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Belleville. He was a carpenter and managed the Town of Brooklyn Recycle Centerfor several years. Gerald loved being in the outdoors hunting and fishing, competing in many Bass Tournaments. As a young man he enjoyed raccoon hunting with his dad and later years shaking dice with his friends. He was always watching wildlife from one of his favorite spots. Gerald was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Belleville, the Brooklyn Sportsman's Club, and the Madison Bass Club. Survivors include: his wife Janice of rural Brooklyn, , his children Jackie (Alan) Tomlin of Evansville, Alta May (Harley) Lemke of Brooklyn, Gerald Jr. (Carol) Schulz of Arlington, Tammy Pestor of Brooklyn. His grandchildren: Alexis(Aaron)Nelson,Alex and Amanda Tomlin, Karley and Kaytee Lemke, Rebecca and Brianna Schulz and Karleen Pestor. Four Great-Grandchildren. His mother Alta Mae Schulz of Oregon ,Brothers : Phil (Donna) Schulz of Brooklyn, Steve (Jane) Schulz of Beaver Dam, Dan (Carla) Schulz of Cottage Grove, Gene (Janice) Schulz of Oregon and Leslie (Mona) Schulz of Albany. He was preceded in death by his father Floyd, and a son-in-law Thomas Pestor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 28, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 South Harrison St. Belleville. The Rev. Michael Moon officiating with burial in the St. James Cemetery, Dayton. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, March 27, 2011, from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville. A memorial fund has been established for Hunter Safety.
