Gaylord W. Kittleson, age 96 of New Glarus passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.  He was born on August 22, 1927 the son of Theodore and Myrtle (Frislie) Kittleson in Mt. Horeb, WI.  Gaylord graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1945.  In 1954 he married Isabell Urben, and their union produced a daughter Sally and son Gary.  On October 25, 1981 Gaylord married Marlys (Isely) Karlen.  Gaylord was a lifelong dairy farmer who won many milk producer awards from his Registered Holstein's at Kitt-Valley Holsteins.  He was also lifelong member of the Perry Lutheran Church.  Gaylord was an outdoorsman, he loved spending time in the woods hunting deer, or on the banks of a trout stream, and was an avid trapshooter.  He also enjoyed polka dancing and cheering for the Brewers and Packers.  As a younger man he had competed in ski jumping and taken ski trips to Colorado with Grant Slotten and Byron Berg.

Gaylord is survived by his children Sally Kittleson and Gary (Marcia) Kittleson, grandson Clint Kittleson, step-children Kendall Karlen, Kerry Karlen, Kandace (Benny) Goins, and Kendra (Roland) Holland and their families.  He is further survived by a sister Teresa (Larry) Locher, nieces, nephews, and special friend Katie Elmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marlys in 2005, sisters Dorothy Lageson and Gloria Erickson, and a half-brother Arthur Kittleson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023 at the Perry Lutheran Church, 1057 State Rd. 78, Mount Horeb, WI with Rev. Kelli Fisher officiating.  Burial will be in the Perry Lutheran Church Cemetery.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Monday, November 20, 2023 at the Perry Lutheran Church.
