"The joy of the Lord is my strength" Gail Susan Vinje, age 65, of Beloit went to live with her Lord on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at her home in Beloit after a three year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on August 30, 1947 at Monroe, WI to her parents Obert Theodore and Mavis S. (Nybroten) Vinje. Gail graduated from New Glarus High School in 1965 and then continued her studies at the Prairie Bible Institute at Three Hills, AB, Canada. She also graduated from the School of Nursing at Edgewood College and the Methodist Hospital in Madison, WI. Gail worked as a registered nurse for thirty five years with The Evangelical Alliance Mission (T.E.A.M.) in Papua, Indonesia retiring in 2012. She was also involved with Children's Ministries and taught Women's Bible Classes. Gail was a member of the New Glarus Bible Church. Gail is survived by her brother Phillip (Debra) Vinje of Janesville, WI, sisters Colleen (Jake) Schulthess of Monroe, WI, Mary Ann (Paul) Schroeder of Orfordville, WI, Joan (Jerry) Christiansen of Beloit, WI, and Judy (Guerdon) Hynes of Gays Mills, WI. She is further survived by longtime friend and coworker Margaret Stringer of Taylors, SC and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece Linda Pederson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the New Glarus Bible Church, 207 Sixth St., New Glarus, WI with Pastor Walter Olsen and Pastor Tom Schubring officiating. Graveside burial services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Adams Cemetery, N7148 County Rd. A, Argyle, WI. Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.
