Obituary

Frank E. Stanley was born on December 23, 1949 and died on May 6, 2011 at UW Hospital from complications of diabetes. Frank spent his working years in the auto parts industry and was a superb mechanic until illness prevented him from working on cars. His garage remained well-stocked, however, and friends and neighbors were often surprised when he came up with an obscure part they needed in some out-of-the-way drawer. He then turned his interest to computers and enjoyed building his own computers as well as those for family and friends. He was never happier than when helping someone with a computer problem. Frank faced multiple health issues through the years with a calmness and grace that never wavered. He never lost his sense of humor during the worst of times. He never once asked, "Why me?" He is survived by his wife, Maribeth, with whom he celebrated 38 years of marriage on April 28th, 2011. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Lorene Webber, Shirley (David) Howell, and Peggy Eichelkraut, and many nephews and nieces. He is further survived by Art and Patty Marty and Wilton Marty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Oreille Stanley, father and mother-in-law William and Lorna Marty, and brothers-in-law Bradford (Butch) Eichelkraut and Barry Eichelkraut. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 6th Ave., New Glarus, WI with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery, New Glarus. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home in New Glarus. Maribeth wishes to express her appreciation to Gregory Sheehy, M.D. for his care of Frank for so many years and to John Pirsch, M.D. and the medical and nursing staffs of the UW Transplant Clinic and the UW Hospital Transplant Unit for the care given to Frank for the past seven years. Lastly, continuing heartfelt appreciation is given to the family that donated the gift of life to Frank which allowed us to have additional years together. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin.
