Evangeline A. Wearing, age 85 passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the New Glarus Home.  She was born on July 3, 1938 in the Town of Fennimore the daughter of Olaus and Inanda (Lee) Wellington.  Evangeline grew up on a farm outside Fennimore and attended the Gates and Blue Schools and graduated from Fennimore High School in 1957.  Evangeline moved to Madison to attend the Milwaukee School of Beauty Culture while there she met Charles Wearing they would be married on June 5, 1960 at the Boscobel Trinity Lutheran Church.  Evangeline and Charles resided in Madison until 2002 when they moved to New Glarus to return to their small-town roots.

Evangeline is survived by her husband Charles, daughters Melanie Wearing and Diana (Steve Nelson) Wearing, son David (Teresa) Wearing, granddaughter Ella, brother Kenneth Wellington, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Merlin and Norman Wellington and sister Joyce Ashman.

A private family celebration of Evangeline's life will be held.
