Evan Riley Dorn, age 29, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 following a long struggle with mental illness.  He was born on August 16, 1994, the son of Dennis and Mary Kaye (Vogel) Dorn. Evan graduated from New Glarus High School and the University of Wisconsin Farm and Industry Short Course.  Evan had an infectious smile; always friendly to anyone that would listen.  He had to deal with many struggles in life.  Things didn't come easy for Evan, but when he set his mind to something, it was full speed ahead.  He was gifted with a love for field work on the farm; that was his happy place and fixing the machinery on the farm, which many were his breakages.  He loved to be needed and would offer his help to anyone who asked, even if it was a ride home in the middle of the night.

Evan is survived by his parents Dennis and Mary Kaye, siblings Heidi (Dave) Jennrich, Lindsey (Troy) Nevil, Jesse (Kami), Jordan (Kristy), and Tyler (Alisha), girlfriend Heather Keister, fifteen nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jamie, grandparents Bud and Eileen Dorn and Tom and Joan Vogel and close cousin Kyle Braukhoff.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 506 12th Ave., New Glarus, WI with Rev. Erich Hartenberger officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery, rural Evansville, WI.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.
