Esther C. Pulfer, age 92 passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Four Winds Manor in Verona.  She was born on March 27, 1931 in Madison, WI the daughter of John Jakob and Clara (Bringold) Meier.  Esther attended the White School and graduated from Verona High School in 1949.  On May 21, 1953 she was united in marriage to Robert Pulfer.  Esther was first and foremost a mother and homemaker, she had also worked as a telephone operator and at the Paoli Grocery Store and then for 35 years in the bakery at Miller & Son's in Verona until retiring in 2014.  She was a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ-Paoli and the Zwingli Women's Guild.  Esther had also served as a 4H Leader.

Esther is survived by her children Louise (Larry) Brunkow, April Jenks, Darlene (Richard) Hendrickson, Joanne Pulfer, Ernie (Kari) Pulfer, Julie (Jim) Miller, Angie (Bart) Morrick, and Theodore (Denise) Pulfer, grandchildren James Carpenter, Troy (Claire) Baladou, Steven (Danielle) Jenks, Analicia (Jordan) Jenks, Eric (Chantel) Hendrickson, Sara Hendrickson, Rebecca (Nick) Solberg, Jacob (Bridget) Pulfer, Neil (Amara) Pulfer, Tracy Pulfer, Jennifer Schwartz, Jessie (Nichole) Miller, Jordan (Tiffany) Miller, Abraham Morrick, Noah Morrick, Isaac Morrick, Ben Pulfer, and Aaron Pulfer, sixteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.  She is further survived by her brothers Donald Meier and Edward (Mary Lou) Meier, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 2010, infant brother Edward Jacob, son-in-law Mark Jenks, and sister-in-law Vivian Meier.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.  A funeral service will follow at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, 1338 County Rd. PB, Belleville, WI with Rev. Petra Streiff officiating.  Burial will be in the Paoli Cemetery.
