Ellen A. Beckwith, age 91 of New Glarus, WI passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.  She was born on June 11, 1934 in Iowa County the daughter of Glen and Pearl (Moyer) Garfoot.  Ellen attended Barneveld Schools, and on September 30, 1950 she was united in marriage to Jesse Beckwith at the Blue Mounds Lutheran Church.  Ellen had worked as a waitress and then she worked for many years in assembly for Miniature Instruments, Oaktron and later MTX from where she retired.  After retiring Ellen worked in the laundry at the New Glarus Home.  She was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ.  Ellen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, checking out garage sales, and playing euchre.

Ellen is survived by her children Debra (Scott) Bram, Diane Elmer, Donna (Ron) LeStarge, Dean (Brenda) Beckwith, Doris (Scott) Enlow, and Dale Beckwith, grandchildren Brian, Mitchell, Dylan, Mark, Ronnie, Mindy, Missy, Jason, Billi Jo, Kari, Tina, Traci, Kelly, and Brandon, step granddaughter Tonia, step-grandchildren Brittany and Morgan, great grandchildren Megan, Taylor, Hunter, Hayden,  Lauryn, Kenedee, Kerington, McKenzie, Braylin, Paxton, Annie, Brooklyn, Reese, Everly, Jaiden, and Bryson, and a great-great-grandchild Penelope.  She is further survived by a sister-in-law Joyce Garfoot, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jesse, grandson Chad Graber, and siblings Mae (Theodore "Ben") Tilley, Dorothy (Albert "Junior") Knudtson, Wayne (Shirley) Garfoot, and Paul Garfoot.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 Fifth Ave., New Glarus, WI with Pat Pluss officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Glarus Cemetery.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.
