Edward L. Duesterhoeft, age 72, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at his home. He was born on November 16, 1944 to his parents Elmer and Ruth (Thingstad) Duesterhoeft. Ed graduated from Jefferson High School and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. After college he served in the United States Air Force in Germany and Turkey.   Ed worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Memorial Library. On February 14, 1987 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Richgels in Monroe. Ed was an avid Badger fan and enjoyed all sports especially baseball and hockey. He also enjoyed "drive abouts" to see the countryside.

Ed is survived by his wife Betty, children Sarah Duesterhoeft,Dan Bedward and Ben Bedward, grandchildren Evelyn, Adaline, and Ben II. He is further survived by his brother Ernst (Lynette) Duesterhoeft, niece Yvonne, and nephew John.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John.

Per Edward's request private family services will be held.
