Edward F. Brey, age 56, of Verona passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. He was born on October 19, 1960 at Madison General to his parents Gerald and Donna (Schnurbush) Brey. Ed served in the United States Marine Corps from 1978 to 1980 and then served in the WI Air National Guard and Marine Corps Reserve. He also worked as a truck driver for UW Provisions. On June 15, 1985, he was united in marriage to Susan Roosli at the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Verona. Ed loved to cook and grill and enjoyed the outdoors through fishing, hunting, and camping. He was also a member of St. James Lutheran Church.
Ed is survived by his wife Susan, sons Paul Brey and Alexander Brey, daughters Angie Brey and Lindsay Brey. He is further survived by his siblings Deborah (Mike) Olson of Belleville, WI, Mark Brey of Verona, WI, Jerri Lynn (John) O'Connor of McFarland, WI, and Wanda (Tim) Schmitt of Verona, WI, mother-in-law Joyce Roosli, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Larry (Kathy) Roosli of Belleville, WI, Joely Roosli of Madison, WI, Christopher Roosli of Madison, WI, Diane (Jeff) Sarbacker of Belleville, WI, and several special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 427 S. Main St., Verona, WI with Pastor Kurt Billings officiating.
A gathering will precede the memorial service from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Verona.
The family would like to thank the staff of UW Hospital for their gracious and exceptional care of Ed.
