Dorothy S. Marty, age 87, of New Glarus passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on March 24, 1923 in Argyle in Lafayette County, Wisconsin to her parents Ernest and Clara (Friedli) Kuenzi. Dorothy attended the New Glarus School. On December 23, 1948 she was united in marriage to Clarence W. Marty at the parsonage of the Swiss Evangelical and Reformed Church. Dorothy was a homemaker and worked at the plastic factory and the hardware store in New Glarus and St. Clare Hospital in Monroe. She was a member of the New Glarus Bible Church. Dorothy is survived by her two sisters Betty Henning and Rose Flannery of New Glarus, a brother Werner Kuenzi of Madison, three sisters-in-law Dorothy Kuenzi of New Glarus, Helen Sanftleben of Middleton, and Hazel Schlafli of Argyle, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Clara Kuenzi, husband Clarence W. Marty, sisters Bernice Buckley and Tilly Ashinhust, and brothers William, Otto, Wilbert, Hardy, and Bob Kuenzi. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 2nd, 2011 at the New Glarus Home Chapel, 600 2nd Ave, New Glarus, WI with Pastor Tom Schubring officiating. Burial will at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2011 at Highland Cemetery in Monticello, WI. The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is serving the family.
