Doris B. Stuber, age 88, of Verona passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Willow Pointe Memory Care in Verona. She was born on December 6, 1927 in Mount Horeb, WI to her parents Bernard and Mae (Skuldt) Magnuson. Doris graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1945 and then graduated from secretarial school in Madison. On August 22, 1951 she was united in marriage to Ernest Stuber at the Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church in Verona. Doris worked for many years as the secretary at the Verona Middle School. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and volunteered at the William S. Middleton VA Hospital for almost 20 years. Doris and Ernest loved to travel; they visited all 50 states and made two trips to Norway and seven trips to Switzerland. She also loved to dance and enjoyed country music. Doris always had her radio turned to her favorite station.

Doris is survived by her husband Ernest Stuber, son David (Robin Weaver) Stuber, daughter Jane (Greg) Baker, grandsons Paul (Heather) Baker and Preston Baker, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Russell Magnuson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Cloyance and Ruth Wittwer, and nephew Scott Wittwer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 427 S. Main St., Verona, WI with Pastor Kurt Billings officiating with burial at Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison, WI.

Relatives and friends may call from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Willow Pointe Memory Care and Agrace Hospice, Inc. for their kind and compassionate care of Doris over the past three years.
