Doris Lorraine Klassy went to be with her Lord unexpectedly on September 22, 2010. Doris was one of 10 children born to Helga and Albert Sherven. Born November 26, 1921 on a farm in Perry township, she married her high school sweetheart, Paul Klassy on June 15, 1941. Together they farmed in New Glarus where they raised their four children: Eloise (Bill) Kuenzi, Judy (Harvey) Sokolow, Paul Jr., and Dan (Margie) Klassy. Additionally, she leaves behind twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, and a brother Chalis. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 2005, eight siblings, and one great-grandchild. We remember our mother for her reliance on God's grace in her life, her love of nature/beauty and her giving spirit. Many baby quilts were crafted to welcome children in her family as well as friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the New Glarus Bible Church, 207 6th St., New Glarus, WI with the Rev. Tom Schubring officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 6th Ave., New Glarus, WI.
