Doris "Betsy" Elsner, age 69, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg.  She was born in December 7, 1955 in Madison, WI the daughter of Herbert and Darlene (Froh) Knobel.  Betsy graduated from New Glarus High School in 1974 and she worked for many years as a CNA at the New Glarus Home.  Betsy was united in marriage to Paul Elsner on September 19, 1992.  She enjoyed tending her vegetable gardens and canning all that it produced.

Betsy is survived by her husband Paul Elsner and stepson Mitch Ruegsegger.  She is further survived by her siblings Dean Knobel and Delayne Strand, brother-in-law Ted Crapp, nieces and nephews Cheril (Derek) Frank, Gabe Strand, Tamara Strand, and Joe Strand.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Danny and Dick Knobel, sisters Diane Crapp and Donna Knobel, and a niece Brenda Daino.

A gathering of relatives and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.

Inurnment will be at a later date in the New Glarus Cemetery.
