Donald A. Ward, Sr., age 73, of Oxford passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Montello Care Center in Montello, WI. He was born on September 10, 1940 at Richland Center, WI to his parents Howard and Avis (Bradley) Ward. Donald graduated from Belleville High School in 1958. On June 4, 1960 he was united in marriage to Nadine G. Hollis at the First United Church of Christ in Belleville. Over the years Don had a varied career as a truck driver and car salesman. Don also enjoyed piloting his ultralight aircraft. One of his great loves was music, Don was a very accomplished musician performing with several groups for many years. Don is survived by his wife Nadine Ward of Oxford, WI; children Donald (Barbara) Ward, Jr. of Oxford, WI, Lisa (Darryl Jr.) Wieneke of Stoughton, WI, Sandra (Steven) Viney of Belleville, WI, and Justine (Ray Jr.) Doucette of Portage, WI; eight grandchildren Jessie (Cory) Holmes, Nicholas (Ashley) Wieneke, Andrew (Sara) Viney, Kyle (Krystal) Viney, Kaitlin (Matt) Viney, Shyla (Brandon) Ward, Jaiden Kurt, and Adriana Bear; step-grandchildren Scott (Tessa) Dreger, Shannon (Shawn) Dreger, Skyler (Richard) Dreger, and Nick Doucette; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Dawn Ward in 1962, sisters Linda Butcher and Alrita Brancucci, and a brother Richard Becker. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the First United Church of Christ, 130 E. Church St., Belleville, WI with the Rev. Heide Walker Hackman officiating. A gathering of relatives and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the First United Church of Christ in Belleville. The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is serving the family. A memorial fund has been established.
