July 17, 1944 – November 19, 2025
Our beloved brother, father, grandfather, and friend Donald V. Hoesly, age 81 of rural Brooklyn passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at his home. He was born on July 17, 1944 in Stoughton, WI the son of Robert E. and Dorothy I. (Best) Hoesly. Don attended the Jug Prairie School and graduated from Brooklyn High School. On April 18, 1970 he was united in marriage to Kathleen Byrne. Don was primarily a farmer who had also worked at WISCO Industries in Oregon and at Stoughton Trailers. Don will be remembered for always having a joke to share and an ear to lend.
Donald is survived by his children Tammy (Jeff Vermillion) Brewer, Darrick (Aimee Cupp) Hoesly, grandson Hunter, and granddaughters Nicole (Troy Barlow) and Autumn (Jorge Cuatopozo Valencia) Johnson and their children Javier, Esmerelda, Maricella and Eva. He is further survived by a brother Norman (Nancy) Hoesly and faithful canine companion Bear.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathy, and son-in-law Paul Brewer.
Private graveside burial services will be held at the Jug Prairie Cemetery, rural Brooklyn.
A public celebration of Don's life will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 12:00pm- 5:00pm at the Pheasant Valley Barn, W1401 King Rd., Brooklyn, WI.
The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.
