David L. Walters, age 67, of Dayton passed away on February 13, 2014 at his home. He was born on June 29, 1946 to his parents Basil and Lois (Sweeney) Walters at Monroe, WI. David worked as a truck driver for many years and as a custodian at the University of Wisconsin. On December 1, 1993 he was united in marriage to Nita F. Hensley at Madison, WI. David was a member of Capitoland Christian Center in Madison, WI. David is survived by his children Lana (Vincent) Weiss of Tempe, AZ, William Walters of Belleville, WI, Jennifer (Mark) Marshall of Evansville, WI, and Peggy Benton of Alexandria, VA, grandchildren Grace, Melanie, Mark Jr., Brandon, and Angel. He is further survived by his siblings Larry (Sharon) Walters of Barneveld, WI, Sandra (Glen) Schnulle of Leesburg, FL, and Barbara Weber of Belleville, WI, close friend Pastor Stephen Stauffacher, and close nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Nita. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI with Pastor Stephen Stauffacher officiating with burial in the St. James Cemetery, rural Belleville. Relatives and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville. A memorial fund has been established.
