IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Colleen Mary
Ringgenberg
August 19, 1951 – January 12, 2025
Colleen Mary Ringgenberg, 73, of Belleville, passed away on January 12, 2025. Born on August 19, 1951, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, and later moved to the Kahl Family Farm outside of Belleville. She developed a deep love for animals and spent much of her childhood raising and showing cows at local fairs. Colleen often shared stories of her teenage years, when she would sit on the fence and sing to the cows.
In high school, Colleen met the love of her life, Pete Ringgenberg. The two were high school sweethearts and later married, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together, they raised two children, Scott and Kami, always placing family at the heart of everything they did. Colleen made it a priority to stay home with her children, creating a warm, nurturing environment and always being there for her family.
Colleen was a gifted and creative soul, enjoying activities such as singing, drawing, and painting. In her younger years, she also shared her passion for music by offering guitar lessons. She found peace in the simple joys of life, especially when spending time outdoors. Whether sitting on her deck watching birds or enjoying the changing seasons, Colleen loved being in nature and connecting with the world around her.
Above all, Colleen's greatest joy was her five beloved grandchildren: Scott, Patrick, Molli, Mason, and Austin. She cherished every moment spent with them, attending school events, enjoying lunchtime visits, and engaging in heartfelt conversations about their lives. Colleen's famous pumpkin pie became a cherished treat that her grandchildren requested—even when it wasn't a holiday. Her baking, like all of her love, was a constant source of comfort and connection for her family.
In addition to her pies, Colleen's family also fondly remembers her signature potato salad, which became a staple at every family gathering. Her loved ones would request it, especially during the warmer months, and no family picnic or celebration felt complete without it.
Colleen is survived by her devoted husband Pete, son Scott, daughter Kami, grandchildren Scott, Patrick, Molli, Mason, and Austin, sister Elaine, and brothers Gene, Rudy, and Jerry. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Kim. She also leaves behind her loyal dog Jackson, who continues to bring comfort to the family.
Colleen's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life will be held for close family and friends.
The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.
