Cloyance Wittwer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011. He was born on February 16, 1929 in the Town of Exeter to his parents Albert and Laura (Baumgartner) Wittwer. Cloyance graduated from Verona High School in 1947. On March 16, 1950 he was united in marriage to Ruth Stuber. Cloyance farmed in the Town of Montrose for forty years. He was a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Paoli. Cloyance enjoyed 61 wonderful years of farming and dancing and laughter with Ruth, the love of his life. He leaves a positive legacy. He loved his family above all else and he instilled that love in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His life was a beautiful example of hard work, commitment to family, and joy in the little things. He was a man of lifelong friendships. A witty comment, a few good moments to tickle a little one... this all came naturally to him. He knew how to make things fun, how to turn the simple moments of life into wonderful memories. Cloyance is survived by his wife Ruth, daughters Debby (Ben) Kahl of New Glarus, Sandra Wittwer (Galen Kenoyer) of Claremont, CA, Laurie Wittwer (Peter Gapinski) of Middleton, and Bonnie (Jeff) Aebly of Oregon, nine grandchildren Laura Kahl and Sarah (Casey) Boatman, Noah and Annamarie Kenoyer, Katie, Mack, and Joe Gapinski, Melissa and Rachel Aebly, and great-grandchildren Tatum and Everett Boatman. He is further survived by his brother Jack Wittwer of Belleville, sister Jeanette Kessenich of Verona, brother-in-law Ernest (Doris) Stuber of Verona, sister-in-law Lois Stuber of Roscoe, IL, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Scott, mother Laura Spinti, father Albert, stepfather Raymond Spinti, and his special uncle Mickey Wittwer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at SALEM UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 502 Mark Drive, Verona, with the Rev. Sara Thiessen officiating with burial in the Paoli Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI and also from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the SALEM UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST.
