Christine Helen Ruth (Schuld) Baumgartner, age 84, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Skaalen Home in Stoughton. She was born on March 14, 1926 in Salem, WI to her parents Herman and Christina (Foss) Schuld. Christine graduated from Brooklyn High School. Christine married the love of her life John Jacob Baumgartner on December 16, 1944 in Brooklyn. John and Christine had just celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary. Christine worked at Oscar Mayer for many years, and upon Johnny's retirement they worked side by side at their own lawn mowing business. Christine is survived by her husband, daughters Gloria (Ron) and Christy (Pete), grandchildren Shawn, Staci, and Johnathon, great-grandchildren Mason and Maya, a brother Ted, and beloved feline friends Mr. Spot and Baby Christmas. She was preceded in death by sisters Grace (Terry) and Evelyn (Roger) and Johnny's brother Adam and sisters Anna (Fred), Kathryn (Don), and Pearl (Bill). Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the First United Church of Christ, 130 E. Church St., Belleville, WI with the Rev. Heide Walker-Hackman officiating with burial in the Belleville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of service on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the First United Church of Christ in Belleville. The family would like to thank the staff members of Forest View Unit 6 at the Skaalen Home who showed much care, concern, and affection that they became instant family to Christine, Johnny, Gloria, and Christy - Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! We were involved with Hospice for a short time; their assistance was of such value and importance at such a critical time in our lives, that we will forever be grateful.
