Cheri Lee O'Connor

Cheri Lee O’Connor, age 59 passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at her home following a valiant battle with cancer with family by her side. She was born on April 9, 1967 in Madison, WI the daughter of Keith and Phyllis (Huber) Elsner. Cheri graduated from Belleville High School in 1985 and continued her education at MATC in Madison earning a degree in accounting. On June 22, 1996 she was united in marriage to Thomas O’Connor at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Belleville. Cheri worked as the finance director for the Belleville School District for 29 years. She enjoyed crafting and tending her flowers including those she had planted around the schools in Belleville. Cheri was a fan of anything Disney, she and her family shared many trips to Disney creating memories that were chronicled in her scrapbooks.

Cheri is survived by her husband Tom, children Alex (Rylee) and McKenzie (fiancé Zack Nelson), siblings Chris (Al) Farrow, Deborah (Dan) Kauk, and David (Kjirsten) Elsner. She is further survived by her mother-in-law Lucille O’Connor & Tom’s siblings, many nieces & nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents Keith “Moose” and Phyllis “Red”, father-in-law Francis O’Connor, and nephew Eric O’Connor.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI. Inurnment will follow at the Montrose Pioneer Cemetery, rural Belleville.

The celebration of Cheri’s life will continue at Sugar River Lanes, 807 River St., Belleville, WI from 12:30 p.m. on after the services at the funeral home and cemetery on Wednesday.

A gathering of relatives and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.

A memorial fund has been established. To honor Cheri’s memory plant the flowers, be in the pictures, smile at people for no reason, be silly, and say I love you everytime.
