Carol Jean Elmer, age 80 passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at her home.  She was born on April 24, 1945 in Monroe, WI the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Hamilton) Hustad.  Carol graduated from New Glarus High School in 1963.  On August 8, 1964 she was united in marriage to Gary Elmer at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus.  Carol had worked for TDS for over 30 years until retiring.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed her book club friends, along with knitting and crocheting.  Carol and Gary also were members of a Euchre card club.  Most important of all were her grandchildren and family.

Carol is survived by her husband Gary, sons Brian (Melissa) Elmer and Kevin Elmer, grandchildren Morgan (Phil) Harrison, Lukkah Elmer, and Lillian Elmer, great-granddaughter Skylar, brother Duane Hustad, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Janice Disch and Lorna Righter, father-in-law and mother-in-law Herman & Lillian Elmer, brother-in-law Phil Elmer, and sisters-in-law Sonia and Lynne Hustad.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held at a later date.
