Obituary

Carlton "Chuck" Little, age 80, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.  He was born on August 6, 1942 at home in the Town of Montrose to George and Mildred (Orth) Little.  Chuck attended the Paoli grade school and Verona and Belleville High Schools.  On October 7, 1961, he was united in marriage to Rita Richardson at St. Raphael's Cathedral.  Chuck began working as a truck driver for the Paoli Mill, he would later work for Rein Schultz & Dahl company, Bowman Dairy, Golden Guernsey, and Foremost Farms.  He retired in 2004.  Chuck had boxed Golden Gloves for the Blessed Martin House, and he was selected to the Pan American Boxing Team along with Cassius Clay, Jr. to box in Puerto Rico.  Chuck's career boxing record stood at 23 and 1.  He also enjoyed playing and managing for area softball teams; Aebly's, Dayton Hideaway, and Super Bowl.  Later he coached Belleville Home Talent.  Chuck and Rita enjoyed traveling and camping in their RV, playing cards with their card club, and spending time with family and friends.  He especially enjoyed visits with his grandchildren.

Chuck is survived by his wife Rita, canine companion Buff, daughters Jackie (Tom) Crabb, Gerisue (Brad) Flanagan, Jan (Brad) Neumann, and Jenny (Mark) Kowalski, grandchildren Taylor (Marianne) Crabb, Talia (Stephen) Kahlow, Kaylee Flanagan, Chaz (Kayla) Flanagan, Ben (Hannah Courier) Neumann, Jacob (Briana Austin) Kowalski, and Allison (Joseph Burke) Kowalski, great-grandchildren Addy Kahlow, Aliahannah, Ayrabella, Amaris, and Kole Flanagan.  He is further survived by a brother Donald Little, sister Sharon (Richard) Runden, sisters-in-law Connie Little, Agnes Stegner, Mary Steel, Betsy (Pat) Jagoe, and Teresa (Fred) Miller, brother-in-law Mike (Deb Larson) Richardson, nieces, nephews, and grade school friend Jim Winkelman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Alden and George, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerry and Garnett Richardson, and brothers-in-law Dave Stegner and Hugh Steel.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.

Private graveside burial services will be in the St. Willam's Cemetery, Paoli.
