Brian Freitag

Brian Freitag, age 64 passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026 at his home. He was born on January 9, 1962 in Monroe, WI the son of Lyle and Claudette (Truttmann) Freitag. Brian graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1980 and he began farming with his father. On August 6, 1983 Brian married Lori Drinkwine at the Perry Lutheran Church in Daleyville. In 1990 he began working in maintenance for the University Bookstore in Madison until retiring. Brian was an avid Badger and Packer fan. He also enjoyed times spent on the water fishing along with coaching and watching his kids play sports.

Brian is survived by his children Jenna (Jeff) Shunk, Krista (Jimmy Bristow) Freitag, Emily (Brandon Jelle) Freitag, and Nick (Sabrina Perrii) Freitag, and grandchildren Hunter, Fisher, LeRoy, Jaxon, Cole, and Logan. He is further survived by his sisters Renee (Steve) Bigler, and Jolene (Blaine) Walsh, brother-in-law Larry Friedrich, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Janell Friedrich.

A gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI. Badger or Packer attire is encouraged.

Inurnment will be at a later date in the Highland Cemetery, Monticello, WI.
