Brian A. Bartosch, age 48 passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at UW Hospital in Madison following a long battle with liver disease and cancer.  He was born on February 10, 1977 in Madison, WI the son of Wayne and Kathleen (Hawley) Bartosch.  Brian graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1995 and would attend and graduate from MATC in Madison.  He had worked as an auto mechanic for the Zimbrick Auto Dealerships in Madison for many years.  On July 7, 2007 Brian was united in marriage to Erin Gmur at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus.

Brian is survived by his wife Erin, children Kate and Evan, brother Bill & Stacey Bartosch and their children Dakohta and Kadence.  He is further survived by a special cousin Lisa McElroy, aunt Darlene (Marvin) Duckert, godmother/cousin Julie (Rich) Selin, cousins Carol (Mike Brom) Bartosch & family and Kevin (Tyna) Bartosch & son, father-in-law and mother-in-law Steve & Karen Gmur, sister-in-law Lisa (Cameron) Schwoegler and niece Courtney, brother-in-law Greg (Stacy) Gmur and nephews Morgan & Marlo, and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunt Dolores "Dee" (Hawley) Hagmeier, and uncle Victor (Roseanne) Bartosch.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.

A time of remembrance led by Pat Pluss will conclude the visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home.

We are grateful for all the support given to Brian and our family over the last couple years by our family, friends, our Swiss Church family, and the New Glarus Community.  The family would also like to thank the staffs of UW Hospital; Transplant, Intermediate, & ICU/TLC units along with Select Medical Center Madison for the kind and compassionate care given to Brian.
