Beverly Arlene (Cockroft) Fritz, formerly of Belleville, age 85, passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Care Center, Madison, WI on Thursday, June 6, 2013. Beverly was born on March 8, 1928 in Belleville, WI, the second eldest of six children born to Robert D. and Lillian (Stiff) Cockroft. She married Stanley E. Fritz on February 5, 1945 at the Grace Methodist Church Parsonage, Belleville. Together they farmed the Fritz Homestead in Montrose Township until moving to Belleville in 1947. She enjoyed being an active member of the Montrose Ladies Aid. Beverly worked at the Eastside Red Owl bakery in Madison for several years and also the GH Lehnherr Store, Belleville, until her retirement in 1973. She was a homemaker and loved cardinals and tending to her roses. Beverly has resided at St Mary's Care Center since 2000 and proudly participated in the ground-breaking ceremonies for the new St. Mary's facility at Maple Grove Dr., Madison. While at the home, she enjoyed playing bingo, doing puzzles, delivering mail to the residents, visiting with family/friends, and serving as president of St . Mary's Resident's Council. Beverly made many friends while at the home. Beverly is survived by two sons; Roger D. (Jan) Fritz of Arpin, WI, and Ronald R. (Shelby) Fritz, Belleville, WI. Beverly was blessed with six grandchildren: Jason (Kari) Fritz, New Glarus; Kelly (Troy Schon) Fritz, Eau Claire, WI Patti (Adam) Tessman, Marshfield, WI ; Mark Fritz, Arpin, WI ; Jon (Teresa) Bublitz, Belleville; and Jeremy (Jessica ) Bublitz, Deforest, WI. She has seven great-grandchildren: Riley & Dylan Fritz, New Glarus; Haley Fritz & Sean Tessman, Marshfield; Taylor & Camryn Bublitz, Belleville; and Dakota Bublitz, of Deforest, WI. She is also survived by two brothers: Stanley (Lynda) Cockroft, Verona, and James (Donna) Cockroft, Phoenix, AZ, brothers-in-law Herman Duerst, Verona, WI and Lawrence Kosmeder, Belleville, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley Fritz, in 1995; a daughter, Donna Mae Bublitz, in 2001; a brother and sister-in-law, Leroy (Lenore) Cockroft; two sisters, Geraldine (Herman) Duerst and Marilyn (Lawrence) Kosmeder. Her family would like to thank Dr. Richard Roberts of the UW-Health/ Belleville Family Medical Clinic and all the loving nurses/aides/staff at St. Mary's Care Center for the many years of wonderful care they provided for Beverly. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville with Pastor Edwin Vargas officiating with burial in the Belleville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville.
