Betty J. Johnson, age 62, of Edgerton passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on July 28, 2011. She was born on December 3, 1948 in Madison to her parents James and Evelyn (Krueger) Manson. On November 28, 1970 she was united in marriage to William Johnson, the couple later divorced. Betty graduated with honors from MATC with a degree in data processing systems. She worked for the State of Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin-Madison for thirty years as a computer print technician never missing a day. Betty enjoyed playing bingo with occasional trips to the casino. She was also a diehard Packers fan, loved to fish, and would plant a tree for every child and grandchild in the family. Following her retirement Betty would spend her time selflessly helping others, expecting nothing in return. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother traveling to watch Jim play his horn and Josh play football and wrestle. Later even though she did not prefer to travel she was always happy to visit her sons and grandchildren no matter the distance. Betty was also very proud of her sons' military service during times of war and peacetime in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Betty is survived by her sons Jim (Sherry) Johnson of Luxemburg, WI and Josh (Victoria) Johnson of California and six loving grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters Doris Bass, Leonard (Bootsie) Manson, Allen (Jackie) Fenne, Ken (Denise) Fenne, and Jeannette (Wayne) Klosterman, many nieces and nephews, and her lifelong companion "Kitty" the cat. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law Jerry Bass, Al McGraw and her first cat "Kitty". At her request private family services were held.
