Betty Jean Goke, age 91 of Belleville passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at SSM Health, St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was born on January 10, 1935 in Monroe, WI the daughter of Arnold and Rose (Abplanalp) Anderegg. Betty graduated from Barneveld High School in 1953 and was united in marriage to Ronald Goke at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus on June 6, 1953. Betty worked as the secretary at First United Church of Christ in Belleville for 35 years and was also Belleville’s Avon representative for many years. Betty was very proud of her Swiss Heritage to the point that on St. Patrick’s Day she made her kids wear red to celebrate. Betty was a talented quilter, making quilts for her family and was part of the Quilts of Valor program stitching countless quilts for area veterans.
Betty is survived by her children Rodger (Kim) Goke, Dan (Margaret Otto) Goke, Julie (Jeff) Gudel, and Tim (Melissa) Goke, grandchildren Stephanie (Aaron), Robert, Jeffrey (Kevin), Melissa, (James), Brett, Jonathon (Kahlie), Mitchell (Jan), Ryan (Sarah), Tyler (Sarah), Mason (fiancé Riley), Paige, Trisha (Che), Holly, Alexander, Courtney (Andrews), and Ashley (Roy), fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, sister Gladys Thuli, infant brother Harry, granddaughter Jillian, and many special in-laws.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the First United Church of Christ, 130 East Church St., Belleville, WI with Pastor Laura Kolden officiating. Burial will be in the Belleville Cemetery.
A visitation will precede the funeral service from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the First United Church of Christ in Belleville.
The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Church of Christ or the Duppler-Smith American Legion Post #460 Building Fund in Belleville.
