Bertren Delano Figi came into this world on a crisp fall day in 1937. His parents, Elmer and Della Figi, and older brother, Nathan, welcomed him with open arms and joyous hearts. As a boy, Bert explored the rolling hills of his hometown of New Glarus, finding adventure, mischief, and lifelong friendships. Bert had a passion for music, playing trumpet in a jazz band and the University of Wisconsin Marching Band throughout his college days. But his true passion was his family, especially his children Shari, Pamela, Michael, and Erik, and grandchildren Nickolas, Alex, Jackson, and Amalia. On May 9th, 2023, Bert marched into the Fifth Quarter of his life. If you listen closely, you can hear the beautiful tones of his trumpet and his life.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 5th Ave., New Glarus, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or the Swiss United Church of Christ.
