Bernice O. Jelle, age 99 a former Belleville resident passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the New Glarus Home.  She was born on April 9, 1926 in the Town of Primrose daughter of Henry and Clara (Slotten) Jelle.  Bernice attended the Primrose Center School and she worked at the Upright Swiss Embroidery in New Glarus.  She would later retire from Rural Insurance.  She was a member of the Primrose Lutheran Church and the WELCA quilting group.  In addition to the many quilts she created, Bernice volunteered for RSVP for many years.

Bernice is survived by a sister-in-law Hannah Jelle and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Elmer (Rose) Jelle and Orvin Jelle and sisters Hazel (Harold) Keehn and Lyles (Russell) Solberg.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.  Burial will be in the Primrose East Cemetery.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville.

The family would like to give a special thanks to neighbors Dave and Lorrie Lloyd in addition to the staffs of Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. and the New Glarus Home for the kind and compassionate care given to Aunt Bernice.
