Barbara A. Stelter, age 92, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Magnolia Gardens Memory Care in Stoughton.  She was born on December 23, 1930 in Rock City, IL the daughter of Herman and Alice (Price) Genin.  Barbara graduated from Muldoon High School in Rockford, IL.  On March 30, 1951 she was united in marriage to William Stelter at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Loves Park, IL.  Barbara had worked many jobs, her favorites as a bank teller, a grocery clerk for Kroger, and receptionist for Rockford Clinic in addition to being a mother, homemaker, and Girl Scout Leader.

Barbara is survived by her children Kathryn Martinez, Debra (Larry) Morris, Diane (Michael) Hakala, and Linda (Jack) Byrnes, eleven grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband William.

Per Barbara's request private family services will be held.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Skaalen Magnolia Gardens Memory Care and Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. for their wonderful care of their mother.
