Anton (Tony) John Beutler, age 78 of New Glarus, went to be with the Lord due to Leukemia on October 5, 2010. Tony was one of 4 children born to Hans (John) and Anna Marie Beutler. He grew up in Perry Township at Indian Hill Cheese Factory, and enjoyed being part of the Belleville High School football team, and later the Belleville boat club, which began in 1958. During these boating days, Tony met Bernadette (Bernie), and they were married on April 1, 1967. Together they farmed Spring Valley Farm in New Glarus where they raised their three children: Keith (Melissa) Beutler, Barbara (Jonathan) Baker, and Julie (Jon) Dahl. Many times during his more than 50 years of farming, Tony was recognized for his outstanding farming achievements. Along with his wife, children and six grandchildren, Tony leaves behind a brother, Walter R. Beutler and a sister, Sonya A. Sauer. Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny W. Beutler. We remember our father for his dedication to the Lord, his family, his work, and his church. We miss him now, but we look forward to being with him again in Heaven. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the New Glarus Bible Church, at the corner of 6th Street and 3rd Avenue, New Glarus, WI with Pastor Tom Schubring officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery. A time of fellowship will follow the service at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the church.
