Obituary

Alexander Paul Troxler, age 16, of New Glarus died on Monday, August 29, 2011 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on July 22, 1995 in Madison, WI to his parents Nancy Streiff and Paul Troxler. Alexander was a good student at New Glarus High School participating in band and had recently rediscovered a fondness for singing in the choir. He was also an athlete running cross country, playing basketball and golf. Alexander was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. He had been a member of the Kinderchor and played Peter in the Heidi play. Alexander also played many roles in the Wilhelm Tell Play most recently serving as understudy to his grandfather Dean in the role of "Werni the Hunter". Alexander is survived by his mother Nancy Streiff of New Glarus, WI, father Paul Troxler of Evansville, WI, sister Victoria Troxler of New Glarus, grandparents Dean and Doris Streiff of New Glarus, WI and Verena Troxler-Fehr of Hergiswil, Switzerland. He is further survived by his three aunts Wanda (Dan) Farrell, Faye (John) Deacon, and Nadean (Steve) Dyer, an Uncle Matt (Rebecca) Streiff, and cousins Nick (Pam) Farrell and their children Samuel and Andrew, Jesse Farrell, David Farrell, Heidi Farrell, Autumn Farrell, and Amy Farrell, Claire and Robert Deacon, Justin and Krista Dyer, and Emily, Nathan and Clayton Streiff. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Paul Troxler Sr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 5th Avenue, New Glarus, WI with the Rev. Gene Talley and Rev. Craig Jan-McMahon officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery, New Glarus. Relatives and friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the New Glarus High School, 1701 2nd Street, New Glarus, WI. Alexander's compassionate personal manner and generosity will be missed by his many friends and family.
